My name is Katie Nelson (she/her/hers) and I am currently a sophomore majoring in International and Intercultural Studies. I recently transferred to Pitzer after spending my freshman year at Northeastern University. I am originally from Chicago. In my free time, I work at the Grove House and with Claremont Market Shares, and I enjoy painting, photography, and spending time outdoors. Hi! I’m Mary, I use the pronouns she/her. I’m on the pre-med track and planning to do a self-designed major combining social justice and the sciences. This is my sophomore year at Pitzer, and while I’m not planning on studying abroad next year, learning spanish is a passion of mine and I hope to spend as much time as possible traveling in spanish speaking countries. I applied to be an advocate because I think the advocates have a key role to play in combatting rape culture on campus and preventing sexual and gender based violence and assault. It’s my hope that as an advocate I can contribute to furthering that goal.
