Hello! My name is Abigail Biddle (she, her, her's) and I am a Sophomore from Katonah, New York. I am a Political Studies and Psychology double major, but in my free time, I enjoy hiking, skiing, and doing anything outside in the sun. I am an avid dog lover and board game enthusiast. I am passionate about advocates because I want to aid in providing students and survivors with safe spaces that allow survivors' stories to be heard. Traumatic experiences are incredibly isolating, but I would like to be a resource for survivors so that they know they are not in this alone.

I’m Maddy Gould (she, her, hers) a junior from Seattle, WA studying sociology and organizational studies.  On campus, I'm currently an EmPower Center intern and Writing Center fellow.  I’m an avid downhill skier, I love hiking, cooking, dancing, and yoga and I’m an extremely subpar but enthusiastic tennis player. I am super connected to Advocates’ mission and could go on for hours about why I chose to become an advocate, but to sum it up, sexual assault is vastly misunderstood but astoundingly prevalent and I’m excited to be a member of a community working towards providing support to survivors as well as combatting a culture of normalized rape.

My name is Shaun Whitaker, I use the pronouns she/her, and I’m a sophomore at Pitzer majoring in Political Studies! I’m from a tiny town in Connecticut and I love dogs and cats equally, pasta, and a nice hammock. Outside of Advocates, I play for the 5C women’s club soccer team, I volunteer at the Neighborhood Legal Services Self-Help Center in Pomona, and I work at the Shakedown Café. I’m dedicated to Advocates because college can be a lonely place, especially for survivors of any type of trauma. My goal is to not only make the reporting system more navigable for survivors, but to really prove to them that they are not alone

Hello! I'm Katherine (she/hers/her). I'm a junior majoring in economics and minoring in studio art. I'm originally from a small town on the North Coast of Oregon, but I also call Henderson, NV and the Vegas Metro Area home. I like spicy ramen, going to the beach, Tillamook Oregon Strawberry ice cream, and bullet journaling. I originally joined Advocates to act as a resource for my peers while gaining as much knowledge as I could about these complex and crucial topics that Advocates deals with on a regular basis. However, my reasons for staying in Advocates has since evolved, I hope to see Advocates as an inclusive resource for the Pitzer community that continues to focus on peer support, education, and dialogue.

This is my third year at Pitzer, and while I’m not planning on studying abroad, learning spanish is a passion of mine and I hope to spend as much time as possible traveling in spanish speaking countries. I applied to be an advocate because I think the advocates have a key role to play in combatting rape culture on campus and preventing sexual and gender based violence and assault. It’s my hope that as an advocate I can contribute to furthering that goal.
