Office Hours or Support Hours are open to all students in the 5C community (Pitzer, Pomona, Claremont McKenna, Harvey Mudd, and Scripps). During Office/Support Hours, Advocates are available for emotional support, for risk assessment, to listen to the stories of survivors, to provide and explain available resources (on and off campus), to be a support person through a reporting process (on or off campus), in addition to aiding the friends and loved ones of survivors in supporting their loved ones and themselves. We can also answer questions folks may have about sexual assault, intimate partner violence, stalking, on and off campus reporting processes, and support in processing trauma. As a policy, we do not give advice to students. Rather, we offer services and provide support as a means to empower each individual to make decisions for themselves.
Pitzer Advocates is a confidential service for survivors of sexual assault and allies. We do not discuss the information disclosed in Office/Support Hours outside of Office/Support Hours, nor do we share students’ identities and stories within Advocates. However, in the case that we are subpoenaed, we may be mandated to appear in court or other legal proceeding.
We have snacks, drawing material, music, paper resources, and zines!
All Office/Support Hours will be held in the Advocates Office upstairs in the Grove House. Please see below for the names of people who will be on shift.
Hours: Monday-Friday 4-5, Saturday-Sunday 3-5
